Magnetic 430 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh

430 ss wire cloth is a kind of woven mesh, which is made by weaving 430 stainless steel wire.
According to different standards, it is also referred to as SUS430 stainless steel wire mesh, T-430 stainless steel screen, UNS S4300 stainless steel wire cloth, DIN 1.4016 stainless steel wire mesh. In addition, because it provides strong magnetic properties, we can also call it a magnetic stainless steel 430 wire cloth screen mesh.

430 SS Wire Cloth Specifications

430 Stainless Steel Material Grade: SS 430, AISI 430, UNS S43000, EN/DIN 1.4016
Type 430 belongs to ferritic stainless steel, with chromium content 16% -18%, and low nickel content. So sometimes we also call it 18/0 or 18-0.
430 SS is a non-hardenable steel containing straight chromium. Its non-hardening thermal treatment is used for heat and corrosion resistance in many conditions.
Weaving Type: Plain Weave, Twill Weave, Plain Dutch Weave, Twill Dutch Weave are our hot sale styles. If you need other styles, please feel free to contact us.
So to specify what kind of mesh you want, sometimes we also need to say the weave type. For example, Stainless Steel 430 Plain Dutch Weave Wire Mesh, SS 430 Twill Dutch Weave Wire Mesh.

Mesh Count: 1 – 300. Common mesh size: 5 6 8 10 12 16 20 25 30 35 40 60 80 100 120 mesh
Usually, we can divide 430 ss wire cloth into two categories.

  • Coarse mesh: 1 – 80 mesh
  • Fine mesh: over 80 mesh

Features and Applications of 430 SS Wire Cloth

430 stainless steel mesh has good resistance to stress corrosion and oxidation. It maintains its resistance to acid and oxidation in temperatures up to 1250° F,  but has a tendency to intergranular corrosion.
The excellent corrosion resistance to nitric acid and organic acids contained in foods makes 430 stainless steel screens a good choice for many appliances, chemical or food handling equipment and decorative trim.
In addition, type 430 is magnetic in almost all conditions, in as much as magnet will stick to it. This metal has approximately 16 to 18% Chromium (almost no Nickel) to a carbon steel base. This gives a magnetic foundation to this alloy with good corrosion resistance.
Meanwhile, woven wire mesh with stable structure and even holes, so it is a good choice for screening and refining. We usually use SS magnetic screen SS430 Mesh directly for industrial filtering, food industry filtering, sugar industry filtering etc. We also commonly use this wire cloth to make strainers, filter screens, and sieves.
So 430 stainless steel wire cloth is a good choice where the combination of corrosion resistance, magnetic response and filtration is a must. For example, SS430 magnetic woven wire mesh is a suitable choice for sugar industry filtering. Since sugar is a special material that is easy to make metal corrosive, the choice of a high anti-corrosive mesh is very important. Meanwhile, the excellent magnetic property is also a must.
Its strengths are also in good formability, ductility, low work hardening, good thermal conductivity, and abrasion resistance.
